Challis Cow Elk

I have a family member with a cow tag around Challis in 36b. Anyone have recent intel on what the elk are doing up there? My bio buddies and a rancher I spoke with said to look about as high as the area permits. My day in the field last week suggested the same and there hasn't been weather since them. No ag field hits then? I didn't see any action there real early and late.

just saw a herd above clayton just above the river not very high up. easy walk from bottom.

Hunted 36-A this weekend,and the elk were still staged at 9500. We hunted at 7500,and saw very few fresh tracks, in about 3-4 inches of snow. I talked to two guys at the motel,and they had seen some large herds at 9500, but couldn't get close. My guess is all we need is another big storm,and some minus temps,and they will be moving lower.
