S. ID:land anchors and gear for self rescue in high desert (rocky areas)

As above. Wondering what you guys use that I can pick up locally that would work in the Rogerson/Murphy's area. Will be hunting last two weeks of the month. We'll have a hi lift jack, plywood and 3/8 chain and etc. Wondering what size/type rope you guys use for 1/2 T pickup as well. Or other gear I'm not thinking of. Thanks.

Tire chains, Shovel, come along, digging bar as the ground most likely will be frozen, extra spare tire. Once the first spare goes on you head to town to get the tire fixed while you still have a spare. And last but not least hand warmers.

You may have had all of the above list already in your etc.

I have taken a 3/4" rope along and never used it, but that is the size I like because a tow rope of and kind of strength is at least 3/4".

Maybe rent a SAT. phone, that country is huge and and could be along way from civilization, i love it down there,post pictures if you would.

Thanks guys. I use blue steel 1/2? rope for SxS here in AK, wondering if 3/4 would do. What do they have at D&B or the valley co-ops that would work? Great idea renting a SAT phone, thanks brdhntr. Posted on rokslide too and maxtrax mats were suggested. They look pretty legit. Any other suggestions? Thanks again

A few T-posts and driver to complement your come-along can help in wide-open country. A few feet of split rubber or garden hose can help with cable bite and creep on your anchors as well. Good luck out there. Be safe.

I carry a 500? spool of 3/4 inch mule tape as well. It has a 2500 pound pull rating. You can pick those up on Amazon for 45 bucks.

It's pretty handy stuff, almost as good as duct tape!
