I can hardly believe it!
My hands are shaking. Looking foward to some scouting and the chance for a big bull.
Any of you have experience you would care to share?

Come on Scott, my old man has the September tag. I think I'm more excited than him!!!

But, let's talk about what a lucky dog you are - twice in three years. You gotta be kidding me!

Best of luck, man! I can't wait for my dad's hunt, he's never killed a bull before. There's no way he's even touching a live round til I hand it to him!!!

Mule Deer Crazy,
Your Dad has a fabulous tag!
Have you much experience in the Tucannon?
I'm hoping for a bull of a lifetime. My research so far seems to point to the best bulls being in the wilderness. Any thoughts on that?
And do you have any scouting trips planned yet? I know I'm going scouting but not sure when yet.
Best of luck! :)

Still formulating a plan, but will make a few trips over there and probably show up several days before the hunt to get a jump on his hunt.

Good luck to you too!

I have been in the unit once so far scouting. I saw elk, bear, and deer. No big bulls yet:-(
I am planning another scouting session for this weekend. i have reports from the area that at least one big bull has been spotted with some cows.

Sorry guys I haven't been on here in a while. Ya I am lucky, can't argue that! Its getting closer 2weeks for me, can't wait. I was scouting a few weeks ago on the border of the tucannon hiked in on the mt misery trail. Saw no big bulls but looks like you have some good country to hunt up there, quite a bit more gentle than the wilderness side I will be on. Good luck and I will let you know if I see a good one up where you can hunt. nwhunter

Yelp
According to the map Jelly spring is right on the hunt unit boundary for the any bull tags.
I did get a tip I consider reliable that Jelly Spring area could hold a big bull or two. Have you been in there?
I have been mostly in the area from Tallow falts to Godman and then east of Godman. I saw a big bul with cows on Saturday morning. Tough part will be finding them in October after rifle deer season has been open for a week.
Thanks

That southern part of the unit is good. I have buds that hunted it last year with a bull tag, I drew MT View years back and saw some nice bulls over at Jelly Springs. There always seems to be a nice bull in that area every year. The other positive was that some of that area didn't burn in the fire a few years back so there is some nice timber and North facing slopes with timber. Good luck you have a great tag.

I will be at the camp at the trailhead of the panjab trail next week. Its called camp wooten. I will be doin alot of riding in that area so I will keep my eyes open for you if you want. I beleive this would be west of godman but not sure.

That TH is north and a little east of Godman.
You should see and or hear bulls up that trail. I have not been up the trails but have been to the TH.
I'm sending you a private message.
Thank You!

I did not kill a bull sorry to say. I had my chances and passed up some nice ones hoping for mr big. Biggest I had an opportunity at was 6x7 340ish on day 2. Thought it was too early to shoot him so let him walk adn that is the one I should have shot . Saw a couple bigger but couldn't get them to come in. Still trying to choke the tag down! nwhunter
