Out Of State

I am out of state and I am looking at next year coming to hunt deer and was just wondering if tags were a draw or over the counter. Thanks.

Most deer areas can be hunted with licenses purchased over the counter, you would have to choose archery, muzzleloader or modern firearm and use the appropriate type of weapon during that method season.
On elk, most of the better areas are draw tags for big bulls and over the counter for spikes. However Western Washigton elk tags for most, not all, areas are for 3 point bulls minimum. You are forced with choosing either Western or Eastern Washington for elk tags and then have to choose weapon like deer.
You must purchase elk and deer licenses to be eligible to apply for the limited entry elk and deer permits. Hope that answers your question.
