Moving to Vancouver! Help??

Hey...not sure how many people frequent this but thought I would try.

It looks VERY possible that I will be relocating to the Vancouver area from Central Utah in the next few months. We just spent a few days up there and we really like it.

What are the hunting and fishing opportunities??

LAST EDITED ON Sep-05-14 AT 10:36AM (MST)[p]Vancouver is a nice area. Lots of hunting opportunities for deer, elk, bear, and other game. We do have a point system for the quality hunts but much more OTC tags than Utah I believe. You can hunt Roosevelt's on the West side of the Cascades or drive East for the Rocky Mtn Elk but a lot of the East side is spike only unless you draw a tag.

Fishing is great. You are close to the coast for Salmon which is hot right now. Lots of rivers in the area for salmon and steelhead. Plenty of lakes for trout. The Columbia River for Sturgeon.

Lots of rain in the winter.

I live off 179th Street. So far we are LOVING it here. Now finally settled enough I need to start exploring. Just got my drivers license yesterday so going out and buying a fishing license asap.

Anyone want to go fishing???
