I applied for elk and antelope points in AZ. Deer draw just opened, I will be applying for the Arizona Strip again. I think I have 13 points now. I applied for deer in New Mexico, and drew a mule deer tag in the unit I grew up in. I applied for deer in Colorado's fabled Unit 44. I doubt I will draw. I shot my largest buck in that unit in 2002. I will apply for deer, elk, and antelope in Idaho. And I will apply for elk, deer, moose, sheep , and goats here in WA. Congratulations on your goat tag!, what unit? My cousin shot a goat there a handful of years back with a pistol.

Im waiting for nev and utah before i do wa. I put in for 081 in nev deer, 111 to 115 elk archery. Pauns muzzy for deer in utah. I think i have 10 pts for both. Im not holding my breath but if i get any of those, im not worried about wa.
I also am waiting on co for deer, i put in for 70 3rd.
For wa, the odds are such a joke that i will most likely have my bucks from nev, ut, wy draws before i get one here.
As to what i apply for is ones with dates that are later. So it will be muzzy deer. Thats as specific as i will get.

I used to live seven miles from Nevada, and most of my district was in Nevada....I work for the Forest Service. Man, I wish I could have hunted deer there......beautiful country for sure....good luck!!!

Colorado goat is in unit G13 second season.
Not a trophy unit, but still a goat hunt.

Drew a late season riffle elk tag I Az.

I'm off to a good start.
I apply for most western states for almost every species.
I use the shot gun approach.
Have been doing this for more than 15 years.
Usually draw at least one tag a year.
I don't hold out for the best units most times.
Takes to long to draw I just want to go hunt.

Wyoming sheep moose and goat will be out next week.

Colorado moose deer elk and ant.
Will be out soon.
I applied for unit 70 3rd season as well.

Hope to draw anything in Nevada.
Should be a great year to hunt there.

I'm in for all species in Washington. I'm not excited about the draw at all. If I ever draw I'm out of the the special permit game in Washington.

Yes. Draw odds are poor in WA.
This is my exit plan as well.
As I draw a tag I no longer apply for it again.
When I add up draw odds, true opertunity, cost, trophy quality, and hunt experience. I think my money and time are better spent in other states.

Newhunter, which unit in AZ did you draw for late elk? I used to live in AZ and know units 27 and 1 pretty well.

I grew up in Morton Wa, East Lewis County, I moved to Utah, sure WA doesn't have the trophy quality most states do, but you guys think WA draw odds or a joke, Utah has one of the biggest jokes of a draw I've ever put into, I loved general season in WA. I'm an archery hunter, archery season starts in August here, so you get no rut hunts for deer or elk, You MIGHT get lucky here the last week of archery season and see little to no rut action, but everywhere has it's up and downs, and the rut hunt for mulies is muzzy hunt the first week in November, an again, still quite warm here then so little to no rut action, it's tough to hunt Utah, if I didn't like hunting I would of hung it up after the first year I put in, but it's where I live now. Also you only get to hunt 1 unit here. Atleast WA state you can go where you want, Plus you draw a Limited Entry Elk tag for resident here is $285 which is ridiculous, plus the $38 combination fee, plus app fees, it adds up quick, when I left WA in 2014 I paid less than $100 for deer elk bear and cougar, if you get lucky you can draw those tags under 10 point's, but if you want a coveted elk tag or bear or cougar or deer tag, your like 15 - 20 years to draw tags here, I just want to hunt, I don't care much for the draw, not to mention you have to draw a general season deer tag here, it's ridiculous. Elk numbers are low, general season elk hunts suck, so many people here and less in WA state.

Although I do put in for Moose in WA state, i'll be back someday!!
