Multi season deer tag

When I picked up my mail today I got a letter from the game dept. They say I have been drawn for a multiple season deer tag. I don't know how you guys feel, but I think once the drawing deadline is over they should quit drawing for the multi season tags. I have already drawn a great archery deer tag for Washington so there is no way I would purchase the tag now. If they had drawn my name the first go around I would have bought the tag, and the worst part of the hole deal is that I lost my bonus point that I will need next year when there is not a chance of drawing a great tag for me.

I tend to agree with you! My brother and a buddy each got one in the mail saturday as well! Just goes to show you this state is really into getting all the money they can get! Used to be you didn't have to have a multi season tag, now, why not charge money for it! I think it is pathetic!

There are more people in this state now than there were back when a guy could hunt archery, muzzleloader, and rifle seasons. If it was still like that we wouldn't have any deer or elk left. I think it's great if the WDFW can make money and put it to use for law enforcement and/or wildlife habitat.

If only that were happening. Statistics show less enforcement now than before, and there are fewer places(habitat) to hunt. And IMO our hunting, in comparison to the rest of the west, is poor. I've lived here all of my 49 years, it has not improved with time and charging more money.

Well of course it has not improved with time. How could it with the increase in the human population? No amount of money will give us more animals to hunt while wildlife habitat is decreasing in both quality and quantity. The only way to improve hunting is to decrease opportunity, and most people aren't willing to give up one ounce of opportunity.

I got the same letter this week. What a joke. I called and said that it was basically worthless this tme of the year and not being able to apply for any special hunts. They reinstaed my preference points (2). Call the number on the paper and you can do the same.

WA State is a joke. It is really unfortunate that the hunting in this state is managed only for MONEY. The only reason they have the 2nd 3rd 4th and so on chances is to collect the $200+ dollars for the left overs. They have to make sure they sell all tags no matter what. Its frustrating and the only thing that keeps me bying is that I love hunting certain areas of this state.

PS I'm one of the suckers who paid the 200+ dollars for the tag although I keep thinking for 100 to 150 more i could hunt a state who actually manages their deer herd.(not for $$$)
