Late buck season/east west deal

A few questions for fellow washington hunters. When i bought my tag this year for deer hunting the clerk said you didnt have to choose east or west this year. Does this mean that you can hunt eastern or western?? Also, for the late buck season do you have a special permit or just an unfilled deer tag???

You have never had to chose for deer as far I can remember. You have to chose east/west for elk. As far as late seasons go, the regs show what units are open for general and which ones are permit.

No choice for deer only elk. Yet another miss-informed clerk. I have ran into a few in recent years. I buy online now.

yah they need to train them better.One time at Wal-Mart I went to buy a box of 30-30 shells and the clerk didnt know what the heck he was doing. He asked if it was for a rifle or handgun. Also he called it the 30-30 '06!!

If you eer have a question just call the DFW number in Olympia, they usually do pretty well. Never ask the knuckleheads behind the counter, they are just there to collect a check in my opinion.
