Westside Elk Archery

I'm looking for some info on a westside elk hunt. I'm a archery hunter and want to hunt bulls in September. I was thinking about going into the White Pass area but I do not know the country at all. I would like to know what the vegetation and what the elk numbers are like before I make a scouting trip into there.

Exactly were are you talking in the white pass area? Packwood? Randel? What are you looking to hunt? Bulls, cows? Both?

Big area, there are elk spread all over, you need to just pick an area and go investigate. Unless you have some where in mind. We have hunted the randle area, if it is a hot summer and every where else is shut down it is pretty busy, and the indians are picking berrys during this time also, so lots of trafic in the area. Packwood is also a great area to hunt, get up high, it seems the bulls start earlier in that area to come alive for the rut.
