Who has bull tags?

On a side note; dude I'd like to see the pics of the bull when he's down, I went to Idaho last week n got skunked lotsa wolfs in dem hills.....I passed on a small 5 point....

I have a Tag. If I see a legal bull, I'll try to take a picture with my tag on it. Solo hunting 2-3 miles from the truck, In the snow if forecast is correct. Bear is more likely than a Bull, But I like Bear meat.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------support your local guzzlers. OHA life member, lapine oregon

I had one but it got used on Wednesday. Just a little 5 point not really a MM Bull. :)

Same here , 5 point opening morning. nothing to brag about just an average bull for this unit.

Didn't hear much shooting at all as of this morning when I left so maybe I was right not to pass him up.

Nice job 440! Yeah I haven't seen many bulls go through town so far. I took a guy out opening morning and he had a spike standing 50 yards broadside but didn't take him, he said he hasn't seen an elk since :( There are tons of elk around, more than years past for sure, people just must not be running into alot of them so far and only one day left. Maybe second season will be better?

Talk in general around here is season was a little slower than expected. not sure why, elk numbers seem stabile.

Second season looks like it will start off tropical with highs in the mid 60's. they're going to need some snow to be better than 1st season.

Shot this bull second day of the hunt after passing on pursuing multiple bulls the first day. My brother in law also tagged out on a 6X4 in the same group of elk. Want to give springvilleshooter a big thanks for splitting his points wirh me....wishyou could have made the trip....but I understand with the main access road being shut down and all the uncertainties that come with unfamiliar country....and people....lol

Will do! We will either be in his Silver Chevy 1/2tn 4door or my White F350 W/canopy. We're camped right in the middle

He did good! A really nice 7X7. I'll post a pic later

We hunted Ochoco second season and killed a couple of bulls. It seems we were definitely the exception, as we did not see any other bulls hanging in the camps. I think we were fortunate to get in to a group of bulls opening morning. I had seen a bull in this spot while scouting on Thursday.

It started out warm and finished up with lots of snow and cold. We almost got snowed in. I just go home last night.

I will try and post up a pic of the bulls when I get a chance.

Awesome Bull. That looks like the one my buddy was after. Congrats to your brother and you. Was he way down in the bottom?

Thanks! Thankfully he was not all the way in the bottom. We found him @ 4,500', it still took us over 2 days to get him packed out. It was a 1,000' climb 5 times.

Eastside, 2nd season.

Hunted all 9 days, finally saw my first elk on day 9 at sun up, Herd of 26 with 1 bull. Snuck around through the limited cover 3 miles to get in position for a better look. Nice 5x5 But with 26 sets of Eyes watching and No Cover, As close as I got was still over 700yrds. Sat on them all day as they Bedded, fed, Bedded But it was just not going to happen. Left them For the next time I draw the Tag. Mud blocked access to a large part of My tag area. Gumbo soup in the low spots. Last day it was -9 degree which froze everything up, Allowing access to the Elk out on the Sage. I could still not get too my original Starting point due to a Dry Lake that had Water in it. Juniper Eradication has been going on in the area and I saw signs some Historic wet areas are starting to get wet again after decades of being dry.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------support your local guzzlers.
