I'm trying to figure out how to burn all of my OR points in the next few years. I don't know OR that well and trying to find a way to burn my points and not be a total waste. For u OR guys is there a hunt out there that takes a good amount of points where i could draw and pay a trespass fee on a good ranch or use my points to hire an outfitter in a good unit that takes a lot of points that can get me on some great property. I was kind of thinking even drawing one of the Roosevelt hunts and find some place that was producing good animals. I'm up for any kind of suggestion. I have studied the hunts that OR offers right now and either there out of my reach for a long time or they don't really interest me that much. If i was to try and draw it would be for Emily archery hunt but that might take me another 6 to 8 years far as i know. Suggestions Please! I really want to draw and stop applying for OR. Thanks

Here are some options for a good hunt.

1. Spoon creek outfitters and hunt the powers unit for roosevelts.

2. Snake River is another option, talk to Del Sol outfitters or Shawn steens. They maybe booked by now.

Your better off to get in line and buy an outfitter tag in oregon than to waste your money in the draw.

I do some work with private hunts, but we have LOP tags so no need to waste your points.

I would look at the Mill Creek Watershed and Mill Creek and 35% on WW # 2 . these are the best hunts you're going to draw unless you hold out for years.

I have never hunted these units but I know guys who have. they're the best you're going to do short of Wenaha.

Unless you're really set on Roosevelt forget the west side hunts they suck. there are some good outfitters with 300 plus type bulls on private land in the central east my part of the state, but you're not going to do any better than you would on the above hunts most likely.

If you want some names for them I can tell you the ones who seem to do the best. it's all about the private land they lease. but you'd be wasting about 15 points on their units, I wouldn't do that myself.

Stay thirsty my friends

Put in for the Melrose hunt and pay a trespass fee or hunt for a month and find a big one.

My opinion wait for mt. Emily or Weneha. They are your best chance at 350 + Bulls. If you put in your time and scout you should be able to find some really good Bulls.
