My wife drew it!!!

Looking for any and all info on the hunt.

Going to float the river. She has already got info on raft rentals and access to the river. She has spoken briefly to the unit biologists.

Any past hunters or people who have gone on hunts, please chime in or feel free to send a PM.

Thanks!

Congrats on the tag! I would think twice about a raft. I went on that hunt in 2008 ( not my tag) and we used canoes and still had to drag them in spots. I know the guys that's use rafts are having to drag them quit a bit and I would think this year will be even worse. You don't want to spend most of your energy just trying to get down river.

Unless something unforeseen happens you're going to be dragging more than floating the JD this year.

I'd pay the tresspass fee.

you both are going to have a BLAST! Its like winning the lottery...maybe even better. have fun and remember harvest the one you want to look at on your wall for the rest of your life, don't worry about the score. However big it is, it will be "YOUR TROPHY"!

Spent yesterday at the Orientation. What a great day! My wife is stoked! Next Saturday we are headed over with Ron (OregonTK) for the first scouting trip.

Hopefully we'll get a few photos to share after this weekend.

Didn't see much, 13 sheep total with 4 being rams. Spoke to a couple previous tag holders and they both said have patience as the sheep are there, just take a while to learn how to spot them. We did stalk a young 140" ram that was bedded on the edge of a canyon and got within 50 yards of him. Wife was pretty stoked about that. I have an antelope tag coming up so we'll probably resume scouting after that.

Sounds like a good time. I hunted sheep in 2011, so it does take some time to get use to spotting them. Especially the mature rams. Good luck on your antelope tag, and keep us up to date!

>Any updates ? That is one

They were out scouting a few times in September, saw some more rams...nothing real big yet.

I was busy antelope and archery elk hunting, so haven't been back over with them. Just over 2 weeks to go...time to get the game faces on!

She got her ram, saw quite a few. I took a lot of photos, been waiting for "Wanted" to formulate a story. :)
