My dad drew the muzzle loader hunt, just wondering if the deer are rutting right from the start of the hunt? Nov.14 thru Dec.6th Thanks and good luck to every one this fall

If you get weather it will be a great hunt. If the snow doesn't show up it can be tough, but you'll find bucks courtin does.

wow applegate is pretty steep country but stay on the roads you'll see deer

Do they have road closed areas to walk in? Is around the 20th the best for the rut? Thanks Happy 4th to everyone

As for road closures, you will find lots of roads tank trapped that you can walk. Some of these skirt behind private property and can be real good. There are lots of deer down on the private but still decent bucks up on the hill to chase. If you could only hunt one week I would hunt around thanksgiving. But don't ignore the early part of the season, the bucks are cruising looking for does. If you were sitting a stand this would be a better time because the bucks are covering more ground.
