NR quota and Outfitter quota

Maybe this question has been asked before but does Oregon post how many tags will be given to outfitters? For example on some of the premium tags there is only 1 NR tag and every other year that tag goes to a Outfitter. Is it every other year or do they publish what units will be impacted? Thanks to anyone who can share!

If they do I've never seen it. if I were you I'd call and if you're lucky you will get someone who cares enough to help you.

ODFW is less than helpful to us residents, they care even less about you nonresidents . I hunt out of state all the time and I'm ashamed of how my state treats you guys. we should all treat the NR as we'd like to be treated when we're the NR. ODFW hoses you guys.

Half of the previous years NR quota are available for Outfitters to draw. If there is only 1 tag available because of rounding, it alternates each year between NR and Outfitter.

Google Ron Wold Google pages. Ron puts out Oregon draw odds for free on his website. The good thing about Ron's site is it predicts next years draw based upon maatical probability. He also lists if the NR tags is going to the outfitter this year. It is still showing 2015 stars but you can tell what tags went where as the alternate in the guide draw.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-02-16 AT 09:56PM (MST)[p]19 Years ago I made the huge mistake of buying into the Oregon point systemas a nonresident. Next to my ex-wife this was the worst investment of my life. The only good thing about OR is SFW won't spread there because there's not enough trophy tags for them bother exploiting.

Zim, I quit applying in OR when they almost doubled the price, can't remember the year. I figured a a shot at a ram tag was worth it when the total was under $100. But nearly $200 what's left of 5% after the outfitter draw cherry picks it? Nah! It was time to cut my losses and bail.

At least you can just bail on points system...,not pay to get out and keep paying like a bad marriage:)

Oregon is a hose job on you guys and as a resident I apologize. we're all nonresidents somewhere I disagree with screwing each other over.

If I were you I'd draw the best tag I could and be done with it.

Ya well the tag I want is at my fingertips with just 2 other NR guys competing. A point saver or Weneha bailer dropped down last year to take it. Should probably just do Walla Walla and get out.

I don't hunt those units but I know guys who do. one of them says the Walla Walla and Mt Emily are better these days. elk numbers and quality are falling in Wenaha.

If you're that close to the tag you want maybe it's worth staying in. for guys with 10 or 15 points get out.
