Looking for thoughts and information on this hunt. Drew a tag and starting to research opportunity.

Good for you! 10 tags, 1,850 first choice guys last year... Unfortunately most guys have not killed a huge buck even though this is a great tag, during great dates... I have heard the far east side is the best... I got lucky this year and drew a branched bull tag with 6 points (14 tags, 3,300 first choice apps) and will let you know if I see a good buck while I'm in there glassing for big bulls.

I know 2 local guys who've had that tag. one killed a 160 type buck and the other ate his tag.

The first problem is it's Oregon so you can only expect so much. the second problem is tribal members off the rez will be up there shooting bucks before you get there and after you leave. legally. both said this was a major problem.

bucks that time of year will be on the move so I don't know how much good getting away from the roads will do but that would be my plan. anything big that hangs around the road will be dead before you get there.
