High Desert Elk

Hey Oregon guys. I'm thinking about getting out of the points game in Oregon by putting in for High Desert Elk. Anyone ever hunted this hunt?
Looks like there are 2 seasons. The harvest stats are close to the same. Would you do the first season, or the second season?

I have never hunted it but I don't think either hunt has much difference except #2 has a longer season and maybe the chance for snow in 2nd. Obviously snow makes them pretty easy to see as they stand out. There are certainly elk in the several units you will get to hunt and actually some really nice bulls. They are very scattered though and can be hard to find. But if you can cover ground with your binos, legs, and truck you would probably eventually find some.
