Looks good but we've never been there and scout trips have become too expensive.

So we're hoping for some tips.

We dont road hunt, but we do keep our eyes open while driving.

Does it pay to head into the Wilderness areas?

Generally better near Sumpter and Granite or west to 395 ?

From what I've gathered so far there there is no portion to avoid, but getting the buck will take some work

My advice would be.........if you don't have time to scout and need tips to help ensure success, you should probably ask for advice a little earlier in the year. I am assuming you drew the buck tag, and if thats the case you sure waited until the last minute to ask for help. That being said, I would stay away from the roads. Most big buck stories don't start with, "I was driving through a new unit and....." Anyways good luck to you and your party....

"Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience!"

Stay away from the roads and crowds! When you're tired of walking, walk another mile, then another...there's my 2 cents...

"most" of the guys on here believe you cant kill a big buck in oregon, if i were you, i'd give "killerbee' a private message on the muley madness forum.

seems this is the first year nothing cool has been posted on this forum, and seems ironic that only guys like nascarr88 a 440 are around.;)
