LAST EDITED ON Oct-08-11 AT 09:55AM (MST)[p]Hey guys we got these bucks opening weekend within 600 yards of each other. My friend Jake shot the droptine buck opening day and I got mine the next morning. Our other friend got one a few days later same spot sorry no pic of that one. It was exhausting to say the least, 5 trips in and out between the camp and getting the 3 deer out.

Happy Hunting Guys.

God willing there will be 80 year old buddies reliving the memories of this hunt some day.

Those are 2 big bodied bucks. That droptine will make for an interesting mount. Congrats on 2 great bucks. BTW, awesome backgrounds in those pics.

Thanks guys! The droptine buck was the target deer on this hunt, as he is a rare critter. Mine was just up way past his bedtime. If he would of layed down in the brush I would of lost him...

How does your buddy like his Kuiu gear? I've been thinking about investing in some but worried about how well it will hold up to the brush out here in Oregon. Any feedback he might have about the gear appreciated.

Great deer too man, congrats to you gys!

Hey thanks, My friend does like the Kuiu gear the brush we hunted roughed it up a little, and the pants started to fray a bit. The layer shirt did great he said, and the vest and jacket are as good as it gets. I had a brand new pair of Sitka gaiters and the brush blew the snaps off just trying to get through it.

My Sitka pants would off done the same had i not had the gaiters. Kuiu is right there with Sitka if not better.
Sitka has better camo pattern's, but Kuiu is nicer to your wallet. LOL.

Awesome Dean!!!Congrats to both y'all! No rain in Oregon?Ground looks dry as a popcorn fart!!I am leaving saturday and will call you when I get up there.

Thanks for the feedback on the KUIU gear, great info.

Some don't know this but the guy who started Sitka built it into the company it is today, then sold it and started KUIU. That's his new project with an emphasis on eliminating the middle men to keep costs down. Cool story actually, it's on the KUIU website if you want to check it out.

Thanks again for the info.
