Hey Guys;
Help me if you would on Oregon Non Residents ATV use. I got the part that my Kali licensed atv needs an Ore sticker, but my question has to do with my license. As I understand the Regs, ALL nonresidents beginning in 2012 must have an "off road vehilce license" no matter your age. A buddy of mine that rides the coastal dunes says they're not enforcing the requirement, but I'm checking with the MMers (the true authorities).

Any feedback?

Thanks,

I have never been asked about my license and I was checked by a state trooper last year (maybe the year before, can't remember now) and he didn't even care about the 4-wheeler. I'm not even sure who would check you, forest service maybe? Yes there is a license/permit requirement for all atv drivers under 50 for 2012 (required for those under 60 in 2013 and all in 2014) but I know some people are just ignoring it. For me, I just went and did the "course" online and got the license 2 years ago (it was free back then if I remember right, its $30 now) It's not a huge deal, just takes a little time but I think it's better to be safe than sorry. Might be a different story for some guys but I would do it if I you're under 50 just in case, though practically speaking, I don't think you would get more than a warning.

Thanks picker;

What's with the 50 age range? Do they think old guys like me don't drive that fast?

I'm just hoping I get a chance to do the online class before I leave Saturday.

Be safe & good luck,
