Well I missed the deadline to report if i harvested anything, n now they wanna charge me an extra $25 for hunting license for 2014, well pisss I've been here in Oregon for 8 years now n have yet to see a shooter buck.

This is the first time I missed it since they started it don't remember if they announced a deadline, they ain't doing anything to improve the herds so y is it so important that they gotta charge you extra money cause I missed their deadline....

Look on the bright side, Manny! Your $25.00 fine plus the others they collect, will probably have some "creel counter" driving a new state pickup next year! ;)

Its a bummer that they fine people for that. It seems like it would be sufficient if they just didn't let you get your license or tags until you filled out the survey. I just do mine right after I finish the hunt and that works for me.

LAST EDITED ON Feb-02-14 AT 10:04AM (MST)[p]We'll this hole thing jut puts a sour Taste in my mouth I've not heard of them doing nothing substantial to help the deer herd so they decide to profit from the poor hunting conditions anyways, typical for a government entity...

Just like when I drew wagon tire unit deer, I scouted my butt off n every water guzzler I came to was empty about 7 of them I ran across dry as a bone, I called the bio dude n when I went up for the hunt some had water, little too late, Oregon has some poor management strategies as far as I can see....

Manny, as bleak as it seems....ODFW is actually doing some good things for deer. IMHO best thing they could do though is cut tags in half or totally shut down deer season for two years.

However, I personally know of +8 bucks killed in NE Oregon that go over 200"!

Since ODFW is WAY behind the curve, the best bet is pay the money and get on some good private lands that has actually been managed.

Just my .02

Ey blue what is it they've done to produce those 200incher anyways, just saying even in calif. Every once n a while You see a monster that survived a few years without the interference from a wildlife agency, purely accidental...?

I did hunt the late archery here in S, Oregon seen a few bruisers blacktails

I believe that you are paying for not reporting for 2012. You will have to pay the fee for not reporting for 2013 in 2015. Look forward to pay another $25 next year. I also believe your tags, the regs, and posters at point of sale all tell you to report and when.

This will improve the herds if people report. It most likely will take 5 years of good data/reporting to see some good changes by ODFW. The people who lie however should never be able to complain about game populations in Oregon. How else is ODFW suppose to manage with hunters lying? Just going off what other hunters have said on other websites.

That is weird if you reported on time last year. Someone on ifish said they just got charged this year from not reporting in 2012. I'm surprised ODFW computers and employees work so fast at getting the names of everyone out who need to pay the fine. It will be interesting if you report on time in 2014 but have to pay a fee on Jan/Feb 2015.
