Bend/Deschutes/Nosler Buck

Friends have not see him since late November. Recovered a picture of him the other day from another friend with no date. I will ask when it was taken.

Rich

Thanks. I figured that a world class buck like that would be kept track of. I also heard that he was last seen sometime in November. Maybe the buck traveled over past the dump and got whacked by a GOV tag holder??

The picture I have was taken mid January. We shouldn't be posting this in case the boys in Utah run out of their own tame deer.

Rich

Since this buck is bigger than any tame UTARD deer, your making the right decision not to post any more pics. Hell your already a guilty accomplice TODAY when the buck gets poached in 2017. Have you ever seen so much hate? Thanks Manny and Rich for the update.

What's kept him alive so far is he hangs out in Subaru - Birkinstock Bend where the hippies don't know if he's a deer or a dog with something stuck on his head.

Stay thirsty my friends

I'm sure those vagabond types frequent the nearby brewery. DUDE, didn't know you had such a sense of humor.

I go there myself for some good eats and a pretty decent IPA. watching the freaks provides a good show while you're enjoying your brew.

Nowhere else like it on this side of the mountain.

I thought for sure I would get stopped travelling through Bend with my Nevada buck. I threw my buck on stinger shelf as I was in a hurry to beat a snow storm home. Stopped for gas in Bend about 2 a.m. They looked at me like a bastard at a family reunion, but no matter had my deer. JB

YBO,
My friend will post the pic, and my buck will not be confused with the Nosler buck.JB

Beautiful Buck! Love the snow on the rack. Looks like he had some serious blood loss. Thanks for posting.

Nice Buck khensley! You drove right by me and didnt stop to show me? (I live in the bend area)By the way, you one tough dude to hunt in the snow wearing tennis shoes! Congrats!

Haha! Good eyes choate! I've hunted in tennis shoes a time or two (actually pretty comfy) but never in the snow. Maybe I'll have to try it, looks like it worked! :)

It was a long trip from Oregon that day, 63 degrees in Lakeview, then snowing in Nevada. We were headed full speed to a spotting point on a road I had not been to in 13 years and wanted to find it before dark so we could hunt it the next morning. I just threw my hunting coat on and bino's and away we went. I thought I found the road and spotted 3 does on a hillside, but I was so focused on finding my spot I continued on. When we got to the elevation of the does I put the glass on them again and saw what looked like a good buck. I jumped out and thought wow that's a good buck. The Chinese Fire drill began as my rifle was still packed away with my ammo. I shot the deer after 3 hours in the unit, and headed back to Oregon. The hunting Gods were with me this day.

Read a rumor that one of the bend bucks sheds has been found this week.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------support your local guzzlers. OHA life member, lapine oregon

I hope it wasn't cast in that poor women's driveway like last year. The weight of an old Delta 88 will break off drop tine and cheater points!

WOW Really? Did he break off any points during the rut? Blacktail Slayer, what do you think that buck scored? I'm thinking at least 280+.

From the looks of the latest pics he may have broken part of a short extra point off but looks good other than that. Sounds like big issues with people trespassing and spotlighting peoples yards at night. Sounds like the buck is harassed 24hrs a day from the fame.

>Good Gawd Almighty!!!! Maybe 285"s?
>What do you think?

I have no clue when it comes to bucks like this. Score means nothing to me once they get that big with all that trash. 200-300 inches would all be the same to me. All bucks in that range are truly amazing.

>I'm willing to bet that area
>is gonna get hit hard
>by archery hunters next season...

I have not seen him in person or even know the exact location of this buck. One guy said the buck has been well within private property the past 5 months I believe. He has left city limits before but I would guess either die from age, harassment, or a poacher before a legal hunter. Will be interesting if he makes it to this years hunting season. How many hunters do you think will be sitting on the edge of city limits?

I've been told that he is vulnerable only during the rut as far as leaving city limits. Bob mentioned that he would disappear more during which he descriped as the pre rut. Very late October early November. I guess city/park bucks will travel when the scent of a doe permeates the fresh air. My bet is the automobile will be the culprit, not a bullet or arrow.

Brute, I love that photo! Looks like the pic was taken a few days after he cast his left antler. Any info on what the shed scored? Did one lucky individual pick up both sides? Gawd I hope a garbage truck didn't run over them.

Thanks
I got the photo on Saturday 3/8/2014. Another guy saw him Friday evening and he had both sides. So some time Friday night he shed that one side. Don't know the score of him at all. But sure was cool just to see him in person. Just wish we could have found him Friday afternoon when we was looking for him.
Heard a property owner in the subdivision where he was hiding found the first side. Heard he was still packing the other side on Monday not sure when he shed it or who found the kick stand side.

Brute, do you have any velvet photos of the monster this early summer? Ay other news on his cast sheds from three months ago? Thanks

No
But have been thinking about him and hoping he is still around. Would love to get some velvet photos of him.

Was over in Montana last week and got a few in velvet shots there.

Thanks for posting. My guess is that he won't be as good as last year. What do you think Brute?

Look's like he is doing well.
Not sure about if he will have all the stickers or not , but there is still time for things to grow though.
