more land lost in x7b

not the anybody hunts this area of x7b but it is a very critical fawning zone
I hike this area alot and it is the home of many does and their fawns in the summer
the big colorado developers and mt bikers are pretty much destroying this zone

I might not believe in a popular opinion, but I totally believe that if it's private property a landowner ought to be able to do whatever he wants with their property. The United States has taken away way to much of the owners rights. Why should activists,then Judges, courts etc. tell a property owner if they can cut trees down on their property, or if they can develope their property, or fill in the blank. We don't own our property anymore, we just take care of the Govt's. property. They get to tell us what we can and can't do on it. Done with my rant.

As noted, the land is private property. Add to that, I will never support anything the Sierra Club supports as long as I live.

I agree with you guys 100 percent im not a fan of the sierra club but a huge portion of this land was given by private land owners to a government agency (the tahoe conservancy) under the understanding it would never get developed on then the agency goes broke and sells it to the highest bidder to be developed on

That's the pits. There's a possibility the new development will actually be good for the deer herd. I think around lake Almanor there's more deer in the developed areas than out in the wild. It might be because they feel safer and more to eat. Maybe Joey can chime in and confirm my observation over there. He used to live in Chester. I feel your pain though. Most of the hunting areas I grew up hunting doves and pheasants was divided up and homes started popping up. No more hunting in that area. But like I said earlier I've come to support land owners rights.

I also think your right though. If it was given over by private land owners to the conservancy to never be developed and they give it up, it seems that it should go back to the original landowners, not sold. It looks like the original owners lawyers didn't do a very good job with that deal.

I killed my first buck at the headwaters of Martis Creek in 1960. We always set up camp at the location of the "Old Schaffer Camp" site and it stayed for the season, or until the snow drove us out. It was on the back side of what is now Northstar Ski resort.
We took some real good mulies out of the area and a couple of bears as well. Lots of bears today, but few deer. Too many people!!!

Spent a day up that way last year you could make a better living off pine nuts then deer meat we never saw a deer on the 7b side and it was some awesome looking country.
