Mount Shasta Mud Slide?

Friends said Mud Creek drainage currently has a mud and debris flow
that's closed pilgrims creek rd and may impact highway 89 ...anyone else
have any info on this?
With rain coming in a few days just wondering what the expacted impact!
Must be South Eastern part of Mtn!
I will call USFS tomorrow!

i remember back about 15 years ago while I was working with Caltrans there was a slide that came right across hwy 97 took a bit of work to clean it up...

Yo hey 53, that was when Whitney Creek blew out.......I seem to remember a warm rain with a lot of snow still up high. There were several creeks that blew out that year too. Whitney Creek (after the glacier)covered about a mile of Hwy 97 with fine pumice ash & mud.
