Overall, Awesome speaker! There's some things in what he had to say that concerned me. There are things obviously not yet talked about. For the most part, i'm glad to see something like this get as far as it has and it will probably have my support.

I read in the local paper last week, a editorial on just this subject. The writer acted as if the potential of there ever being a State of Jefferson was ill thinking and a potential very bad move on our part. I didn't give the article as much attention as i should have but there it is.

WOW.......IT SEEMS THIS MASSIVE EFFORT HAS LOST SOME STEAM !!!! I THOUGHT MR. BAIRD WAS A GREAT/ IN THE KNOW SPEAKER & THE RIGHT MAN FOR THE JOB. I UNDERSTAND THE BALANCE OF THE STATE DOES NOT WANT THIS SPLIT TO HAPPEN. CAN ANY OF YOU FELLAS EDUCATE ME ON THE JEFFERSON NAME SAKE......THANKS. Of course the rest of the state is opposed to it. They control us now and benefit from our water and tax dollars. They have everything to lose and nothing to gain.

So those living south of say, Yuba City/Marysville will never vote for it, nor will their representatives.

Imagine what kind of industries would up-root and move for a tax free envoroment?
