Hello California, I have a question about hunting blacktail in the high country. I have been doing a little research and was going to try to hunt the August bowhunt in the B zones, all pending my NM draw results. I never get my hopes up too high on the draw and try to plan something new every year. Last year I chased Ibex and had a blast but no luck. I have killed WT deer and Mule deer but im looking for something new. Also my brother lives in CA and I plan on getting him back into hunting.
Does CA have a good backcountry hunting experience that I can glass up deer and have a chance, or better yet get my little brother a chance. Any hints or clues as to locations or "National Forests" in general would help a lot. I would be willing to trade information in NM for genuine help.
