Pick One Draw?

What would people think about changing the draw to make the applicant choose between one only of deer, elk, antelope or sheep? That way, draw odds for the one you want would go way up, especially if it is not deer. Right now, everyone applies for everything because it is only $8 and people who really aren't all that bad in want of sheep or tule elk draw most of the tags. I'd be OK with upping the application fee to adjust for the lost revenue of more applications. It might make drawing a tag in your lifetime for the one you chose a realistic thought....

I WOULD BE ALL FOR IT!!! THE LOSS OF REVENUE WOULD BE ENUFF TO KILL THE WHOLE DEAL.........UNLESS THEY UPPED THE TAGS A GREAT DEAL TO COMPENSATE ........................YD.

Here are my recommendations:

-Change it over to NV's draw system

-Institute a waiting period on individuals that successfully draw elk and pronghorn hunts (5 or 10 years, like UT and NV)

-Reduce deer limit to one per year

-Allow an individual to only draw two tags a year - a deer and then either elk, pronghorn or BHS (if they're lucky). This would prevent an individual from drawing multiple high demand tags in one year. The can apply for them all, but can only draw one deer and one of the others.

I hate ID's system of picking one!

There is no draw system that will fix the basic problem of a supply far below the demand. But for what it is worth, I have drawn sheep, moose and mountain goat in Idaho as a nonresident. All three. The only other tag like that I have drawn elsewhere is WY sheep. I am cutting back but used to apply everywhere every year. The pick one reduces demand. There isn't much you can do to change supply of tags.
