I'm still looking for info.

Since it's my wife's tag, I'm feeling pressure. :)

I've been on the west side of the unit, pre-burn. And I've studied the maps extensively. First weekend of August I'm going to spend 3-4 days looking around. ANYBODY have any info on this unit?

Have you talked with the unit biologist? If not, that should be your very next phone call. My experience with Nevada biologists is that they've been very helpful.

Is hers an archery tag? If so, then take a look around the hills immediately to the east of Denio. There is enough browse to keep the deer around until they are pressured by archers. By rifle season they either lie low or are pushed down and out. Nice country, but a bit too accessible. Good luck.

Leaving Friday night for first scouting trip.

Coming home after Monday morning scouting.

Following weekend I'll be in my unit for 4 days just familiarizing myself with southern part of unit I don't know....yet.

3rd weekend of Sept I'll spend 3 days in her unit again.

Trying to fogure if we should hunt her tag the second week since it's the dark of the moon. Guess I'll decide after my scouting. Hate to miss the opener if I find some great bucks, but hunting blind I'd rather hunt the dark of the moon.

Basically my hunting season starts Friday and ends on Dec 3rd when my elk hunt is over. GOOD TIMES!!!

I have about 5 days in Sept free to work my pup on birds before deer and chukar season opens. Pressure already mounting for my tag.
