I honestly don't see the big deal for the most part they need elk and we don't have that many so there population can only get so big,Next they will kill tons of coyotes which are what really hurts the deer.

+1. Maybe they prefer elk, but for Ca. Deer will be next on their list. Or 1st if there are no elk in the area. We have hunted the Cody WY. area for years, and I can tell you, they eat deer.

i saw archer road hunters with 2 dozen arrows on there dashboards..
wolf's don't have to run much to get an easy meal during Bow season..
bears too..
yotes will alway be there also!!
I believe poaching will always out weigh wolf impact..

A sad day for sure. Our deer are hurting big time and wolves will decimate them. Not enough elk in CA to feed them anyway. Wait until they start munching on the tule elk. We are the only place in the world they live.
