Daughter's First Buck

D6, public land, high country backpacking hunt. Was a brutal hike up the mountain going in and a leg killer on the way down with the extra weight. Thank goodness we had our pack mule (my 19 year old son) or it would not have been possible to get him out. I couldn't be more proud of her. She was the one who spotted it and after getting her situated with a good rest made a great shot. I've hunted this area my whole life and this is by far the biggest buck we've taken out of there.

A great buck anytime, but it is tremendous on a first buck. Give the young lady a big pat on the back from all of us for a job well done. Same for the son for packing most of that animal out.
