Last Pro-Hunting Member of the California Fish and Game Commission Resigns

SACRAMENTO?Jim Kellogg, the last, and one of the first, pro-hunting California Fish and Game Commissioners, has turned in his resignation, part of what appears to be a mass exodus of long-time pro-hunting state employees from the DFW and the F & G Commission.

JIM KELLOGG, long time California Fish and Game Commissioner, states "frustration" as the reason for resigning from the Commission after serving through 17 other Commissioners in 14 years on the Commission, and 6 different directors of the DFW. Kellogg is the last pro-hunter currently sitting on the Commission. Commissioners are appointed by the Governor.

Preceding Kellogg's resignation, Executive Director of the Fish and Game Commission, Sonke Mastrup, turned in his resignation just weeks ago, and DFW Deputy Director Dan Yparraguirre retired last week. Fish and Game Commissioner Jack Bayliss has also turned in his resignation to the Commission. These departures follow many others in past years, leaving a department that many feel has "lost its way" under the leadership of Director Chuck Bonham.

Can u blame them, hunters won't back them up n the Dept has been taken over by PETA ...

Hunters live in a state of denial....one day it will be but a memory....Calif first....u gotta hand to PETA people they have sacrificed everything for their agenda.. You can't get a hunter to a town hall meeting let alone protest ...

Yep. Hunters are much like republicans. They'd rather attack one another rather than go after the real enemy. Shameful and sad but you get what ask for, I guess. Can't wait for the day I can move out of the god-forsaken hell-hole.

Complacency. Someone should have thrown Walt Disney in jail back in 1942 when he made Bambi. 70 years of brain washing has finally caught up to us.

Lol yup....

15 years ago I used have a guide service in northern Cali, when you're out in the woods a lot you can't help but see changes in the environment, predators populations, the spotted owl farce things that effect deer population, believe me I had to quit the business cause I could not see a future to a productive business nor a healthy deer population, I could no longer justifi taking 10 to 15 bucks a year from that heard n I blame the activists for that not nature....

Just a few short years after the spotted owl farce as it was used to kill the logging industry n clear cutting was halted for selective cutting, I noticed the deer population dropping in the B zones, it's pretty tuff these days to harvest a buck in there now a days...

Activism has down graded our environment n the balance of nature if you ask me, the proof is in the pudding, look at all the out of control fires these days growing up as a kid I don't remember so many fires, deer populations would fluctuate a bit but there are so manny mt lions it's sad when was the last time we hunted mt lions in Cali , 1962..? Now wolfs are here n now the Dept that regulates hunting is infiltrated by animal activist, I don't think I'll ever get my Devils garden tag...

Through out the years I sent many latter to the fish n game commission ca'bichen about cats n draw system ect, i would go to Sac n reading to the meetings not once could I get someone interested in joining me, there used to be a late muzz season on the horseshoe ranch on the Oregon boarder 3 protesters got it shut down in its third year, just 3 protesters...sigh...
