Lifetime lincense

How many of you have it and how many of you think it is worth getting ?

I bought the lifetime fishing, hunting and hunting package. I bought them the last day I was an official CA resident. Hunting package includes one deer tag and five pig tags per year. It has been a good deal for me. There is no way I would pay out of state fees to hunt in CA.

Hang on there is a hunting package and hunting one ? There are two separate fees for your lifetime hunting license to get the lincense , tag and five pig tags ?

I bought them in Dec 2015. Back then the lifetime hunting lic was about $500. The hunting package was about $500 and the lifetime fishing lic was about $500. Paid around $1500 for all three. Not sure how much they are today or if they are separated. I think the price is based on your age. It is good no matter where you live, but you must be a CA resident when you buy it. I was moving to NV and wanted to be able to still hunt and fish in CA. CA out of state fees are prohibitive and not usually worth it, especially for deer.

I bought both my kids hunting and fishing licenses before they turned 10 they are now 18 and 16 so the return is now better on my daughters package.I wish I would have bought mine 6 years ago when I turned 40 I would be half way to getting a free license for the rest of my life now.

I bought both the lifetime hunting and fishing licenses, but felt the hunting package wasn't worth it for me. Some years I don't hunt deer in CA depending on what I draw out of state.

If you have your own business and if you can justify writing the lifetime licenses off on your taxes it would make it even sweeter.

They raised it this year . It's like 1480 for the lifetime hunting lincense and big game package I may still get it since I deer hunt ever year and even though it would take a little while to pay its self back it would be worth it .

I bought mine in 2002 (both hunting & fishing). I hunt & fish every year, lease property where some years I can burn (tag) all five pig tags and spring turkeys are heaven. Ya, it was worth it for me...then.

Now?

With the political environment......tuff call. Fees will increase. Age should be a factor also as each level of age increase reduces the cost.
