Elk Draw

boss,
That thought has crossed my mind plenty of times. I will be 50 next season and if you look at the max point holders and the Bull tags available I probably have a better chance of never drawing a Bull tag then Drawing one before I can no longer chase them.
If I don't draw within 4-5 years I will probably do the same.

I would think the odds on the share hunts are exponentially worse, no preference points, and everyone can put in for every hunt, so your odds are probably pretty dismal. I have never met anyone who drew one but they have only been around a couple years.

Those hunts are on private property and the land owner is sharing elk that are on his property, the drawing is a random draw,I should have posted the deadline on here because a few people do miss it .

Nothing again (2nd yr).

It was pricey, as I dropped over $100 for me and my daughter (jr), but you cant draw if you don't play.

I'd be interested to see the draw odds.

I haven't done the SHARE program for elk but I did it for Aleutian Geese one year and got drawn. Most of the application fee goes to the landowner.

If you're willing to "share" enough money, they're willing to "share" the animals on their property.

In the case of the geese, the geese were eating the ranchers out of house and home and most would have paid hunters to come in and run them off. But never let a good crisis go to waste.

They will probably try a SHARE program when wolves get established too.

Eel....I seen the advertisement on TV twice today that some group here in CA want to get the GRIZZLY re-instated here in CA as they roamed around here back in the 1800's. Hell, why don't they just bring in the Brown Bear, Kodiac and some Caribou too.

Release them in and around LA area and then let those idiots fend for them selves because they don't want anyone to own GUNS.

Got tired of waiting and put in for a antlerless hunt. I knew I'd draw so at least I get to go hunt. Sure beats waiting for who knows how long. I drew La Panza first period.
