OTC D-zone - how does it work?

I'm a Nevada resident and I didn't draw for my home state this year. I spend a bit of time fishing in a couple of the D-Zone units and often see deer.

So, if I wanted to hunt D-3, for example, do I just go down to the sporting goods store to buy my hunt license and deer tag for the zone?

If not, would anyone mind pointing me in the right direct?

I appreciate the help!

Yes fortunately for d3-5 there's always leftover tags. If you have never hunted ca before you will have to show proof of hunter ed. But it's that simple. Just buy license and tag and go hunt.

Great! thanks for your info. I have had a CA hunting license for the past couple years to hunt spring turkeys. So, I should be in their data base already. I'm excited to give it a try.

Thanks

If you are not in a hurry to get your license/tag you can go online and purchase as well, takes 10-15days to get mailed to you, just need an old license with your Id number.

If you live in the Reno area, I'm pretty sure cabelas sells California hunting license and tags. Id pick one up soon, they'll be sold out just after the season starts.

D3-5 sold out last year on 10/7. There are always AO tags available. There are about 7500 general tags available right now though.
