Can't believe I finally drew G3. Looking for all the info I can get. Camp sites , hotels, proven areas, and even if anyone knows of a biologist in the area that can answer questions. Just so pumped don't even know what to ask right now. Thanks In advance for any help

It is a fun hunt! I had that tag 4 years ago. You will see
a ton of deer, but the big boys are not as common as they used to be, but some are there for the taking. It will be interesting to see how the herd is this year due to the excessive snow. Plus, Fish and Game really cut back the number of tags for several units along Hwy 395, with G-3 being one of them.
I'm sure you will get plenty of insight from the guys, myself
included, on the area and where to stay, eat, hunt, etc.
Congratulations on your draw. I was hoping my son would get it this year, he went in with max points.

I got a bad case of the UN's yesterday 39 years and waiting for an Antelope tag max points on all species and nothing.

How may points did you have when you drew, just wondering.

Good luck and congrats on a great tag

Congrats,
Ditto on what was said above. My wife had this tag last year, tons of deer, plenty of bucks, just not as many as the big boys. We had a blast, went up scouting over Thanksgiving weekend saw lot of deer. Many of the deer can be seen by glassing off the main paved road to Onion Valley, and off of the dirt road that runs parallel to the mountains, (foothill road). My wife shot a buck she liked the looks of, we had seen it when scouting and she liked it then, saw it again opening morning, then one more time that afternoon, and that was all she wrote! We stayed to look and take pictures, we even went back the last weekend just to see if any big boys had moved down, no one was there, but then again not many deer were still as visible either. Opening day is quite an event, many folks come out just to take picture, see the bucks etc. A lot of people we meet didn't have tags, there are some trials that go into the high country, but most of what we saw were in the mid range to bottom of the mountains. We are planning of going back this year to take some photos etc, maybe we will see you there.
