Lassen period 1.......

Finally drew a rifle tag for zone 4 only took about 40 years of applying, was hoping to get some more info on areas that might hold some out of the way bucks, my wife drew in 04 and I know most of the places to look and am probably going to concentrate my hunting to the east side of 395 best buck we saw on my wife hunt was on the road behind the skedaddle Mts and a few nice ones over in the pines, will be up there scouting in a couple weeks and was hoping some of you guys that have hunted it lately might be able to steer me into some areas that might hold some of the bigger bucks or some of the sleeper areas to go and look, Thanks Dave

Congrats Ackley fan! With a name like that, do you happen to know a guy named Bud Dean? He's an infamous Ackley proponent and shooting aficionado in NorCal. He has the second period Lassen tag this year and I'm trying to arrange a trip out to help him.

Anyway, I've hunted the Lassen a bunch and have a few ideas if you want to PM me. -----SS

Made a trip out scouting. Saw lots of goats but no shooters. Horn growth on the little ones look pretty good. Most have nice shaped horns with decent prongs. Going out again this weekend to another area I sorta know. Lots of country out there and I am sure there is a big guy out there some were. Lots of horses on the east side that's for sure.
