Crawfish boil

Do any of you guys do crawfish boils? If so, where do you buy your sacks of crawfish?
I'm flying out to see family and they're wanting to do a boil while I'm there. We do boils here a lot, and I'm wanting to show them what it's all about.

I'll be in Livermore and looking for the closet place to buy crawfish.

Thanks

good luck.....

The best place around here is Isleton out on the Delta. In Livermore you are about 1 hour away give or take considering traffic and the day you go.
There is a place on Main street that sells them, good luck

Do they sell them in sacks in Isleton? If so, that's not too bad of a drive. I use to go up that way a lot when striper fishing when I lived in Livermore. I found a place in Colusa, but trying to keep from driving up there.
We ate at the restaurant in Livermore last year that had cooked them. I personally, didn't really like their seasoning and they were very muddy tasting

Don't be too surprised if you find them at the bait shop. LOL
If they are muddy tasting try purging them in Salt water like they do clams in fresh water. Maybe that will help not sure. I have had them out there during the Crawdad festival and they were great.

Thanks for all the help. Ended up getting 30 pounds out of Isleton at the bait shop. We had a great boil and even got a few newbies hooked on eating mud bugs.

Got out Saturday on the delta to do a little bass fishing before heading home. Ran a few areas I used to fish a lot, and we were able to catch quite a few. Oh how I miss the delta.

So you went to Isleton to get them, great were they good crawdads? I told you it might be the bait shop, around here they don't eat them as much as use them for bait.

Funny every time my buddies come to town they get all roiled up over people using them for bait.

when they are around it's hard to keep bait in the bucket. LOL

Those blue crawfish are huge. We do a lot of boils here and get our crawfish from Louisiana. None of them have ever been as big as what we bought from the baitshop. Think we only found 10 dead ones.
I'd post some pictures of the boil, but my photobucket account is getting greedy and wants money lol

Yes some of them are like those little slipper lobsters and blue.
Great eating though as they are more than just a small bite. Glad you found them, are you now going to get your baby slipper lobsters from Cali? LOL just sayin what would your buddies say when you put those out in an boil?
