A Zone Opener

None of us know for sure, but we guessed that some of our group has been celebrating the opening of A zone for 30 years. Now some have sons joining us. We camp, we cook we play bocce ball and we hunt a bit depending on how hot it is.

Never before have we shot 3 bucks in one weekend let alone 3 on one hunt! We push thickets with dogs and manpower. Try to get them moving. Its not for everyone as most of the shooting is on the run, and its hard to size up a running deer. Very steep country and a ball buster to get these deer out, but luckily there were 8 of us and some strong young men now part of the posse.

Trust me we camp as good as we hunt. We had a well stocked adult beverage area. These young guys like their IPA.

What a great picture! I love a truck load of bucks. I missed the opener for the first time in 25 years this year. My best friend and hunting buddy died last October and I just couldn't go up to the ranch, to many ghost! So I went to Alaska fishing instead. I will get the boys up there by Labor day and get after the bucks then.
