ON LINE AMMUNITION SALES.

For you CA. hunters that buy your ammo on line from out of state. As most of you should know Moonbeam Brown signed into law a bill that will stop all on line sales of ammo this coming Jan. 1, 2018.
If you buy on line due to cheaper prices on your ammo, you better stock up now. Some on line ammo sellers are stopping CA. sales by Christmas time in order to make sure the ammo gets to you before that Jan.1 deadline.

In state CA. ammo sellers will also have to buy a permit to sell ammo in CA. and record all sales. Buyers of ammo will also have to get a permit to purchase ammo in CA. This will mean higher prices on your ammo and a lot of the small ammo sellers are dropping selling of ammo due to this law. I know of several local hardware stores that have said they will no longer sell ammo after Jan.1.

I am a reloader, but just made a large purchase of factory ammo for my concealed carry defensive pistols in 3 different calibers. Plinking and hunting ammo I do not have to worry about, for now, since I reload those calibers.

I've been following this and all of the anti gun props. But, due to the lawyer lingo and what seems to be constantly evolving fine print, what, if any restrictions will there be with reloading supplies? I.E. brass, primers, powder etc... will these be available for on-line purchase?

I've been buying ammo this summer since we got a Sportsman's Warehouse. Not great prices but no shipping charges. They have a good variety.

So far as I have seen it does not effect reloading supplies, only loaded ammunition. Just give them time for going after reloading supplies.

Thanks for the heads up.. I am going to start reloading anyway. Guess I can get an early start on load development. Any recommendations for copper 7 mm rem mag reloads?

Barnes has some great all copper bullets for the Rem. 7mm mag. Get their reloading book for best results on load development. All copper loads use less powder then standard jacketed-lead loads due to higher pressure.

I appreciate that RELH. I will do just that. I signed a dozen or so petitions on gun and ammo laws earlier this year at the shooting range. I appreciate you posting this not sure I would have awareness otherwise. Got push the wife a little harder to move to Colorado..

I live an hour from Reno so I'm not worried.

But in my opinion a trip to Nevada for dinner and entertainment (and ammo) is worth it. Most Kalifornians are within 4 hours of Vegas, or Reno.

But in my opinion it is not the governments business if I have 50 rounds, or 50,000.

To remain sharp you have to burn ammo.

Hopefully the NRA will stop this in court! But don't bet on it! Stock up now. The local stores will not have the copper in the quantities needed and you could do without!

That wont work if you have a California ID.

Californians used to be able to buy a gun in Nevada and Oregon, not today and I expect the same to happen with ammo after Jan. 1, 2018 when CA. asks those states to not sell ammo to CA. residents. You better have a cousin or friend in those states that can go with you and purchase the ammo.

so....you're saying california law will force neighboring states to ID all their ammo customers??

Deleon would hope so.

I have no doubt it will be "illegal" for Californians to import ammo....but I don't see neighboring states being the enforcer. They can't sell Californians guns because of federal law.

May an unlicensed person acquire a firearm under the GCA in any State?

Generally, a person may only acquire a firearm within the person?s own State. Exceptions include the acquisition pursuant to a lawful bequest, or an over?the?counter acquisition of a rifle or shotgun from a licensee where the transaction is allowed by the purchaser?s State of residence and the licensee?s State of business. A person may borrow or rent a firearm in any State for temporary use for lawful sporting purposes.

I read an article the other day that said California illegally exports 11 million pounds of marijuana a year to States where it's not legal. It was written with pride.

Californians are very proud of their open defiance of Federal drug laws, and especially Federal immigration laws. We're a Sanctuary State.....

Why should we as respectable citizens have to bow down and conform to their standards? I say break every one of their retarded laws....every chance you get. I plan on it.

You go to buy a gun in Nevada you have to show ID for the background check.

No background check for ammo in Nevada.

I always buy my ammo there anyways if not on-line so not really changing anything.

Cheaper Than Dirt has sent me a dozen e-mails saying to order before 12/24 or they won't ship to Kali.

Bass Pro in Las Wages wouldn't even let you see a gun/ handle it if you have a Ca Driver Lic.

Gun show in Reno this weekend. Not much for hunting ammo but plenty of .223,.308, and handgun ammo. Some prices were quite a bit cheaper than I can buy on-line.
