yeah....my girl friend went out last week....25 on the boat...she was the only woman. All she got was a red snapper......

Fished Ft Bragg last week outta kayaks..limits of rockfish. Big Cabs and 1 legal ling..All the red snapper were sitting under the bridge smoking dope. BH1

I went out Friday and Saturday last weekend. We caught some huge rockfish all hardheads Reds, Chuckleheads, 30 pound ling cod.
One of the best boxes of fish we have had in some time. Weather was great ocean laid down nicely sunshine and done by noon each day.
Going back next month for Salmon opening for two days and again in July for two days of Salmon fishing.
Still hoping for a halibut but we'll see

I have not. You probably noticed all the kayaks at Shelter Cove this weekend. Their big yearly get together. I did see one nice halibut about 40 lbs, taken by a kayaker. Drifting a herring on the bottom.

They tell me there was 700 people that came with that mess. They wiped out the spots out in front of lower pacific. You know that is the locals late year fishing spot so most weren't happy with the big turn out.

They did however invite the community to come and be part of their pot luck dinner on Saturday night and those who went said it was good.

bigger every year Eel you should have seen the road coming in on Friday morning with the detour it was crazy.

we did see that halibut but I think our ling cod were bigger LOL we had one toad that was one for the books.

DeerHunter53, sorry to hear there were that many people last weekend. I went about 5 years ago, and it is a mad house then. I think they limited it to 100 fishermen back then. Now it's crazy. That many people would not be enjoyable.

Yeah, a 30 lb. Ling is pretty rare! I just guessed on the size of the halibut, so you could be right.

Now catch a 30 lb. King to match.

I've just about given up on ocean fishing from a kayak. I get sea sick most of the time and the danger that goes with it just isn't worth it. I'll stick to the Bay and California halibut. It's just starting so I'll be going in the next couple weeks for sure.
