Draw

RE: Draw

Yeap nothing for me some how i didn't even draw a d9 tag in the third choice how does that happen ? Has to be a glitchy !

RE: Draw

Cant believe no D9 as a 3rd choice. I have always been able to get it as a 3rd. Man this sucks. Now either getting a D8 or AO tag. Almost laugh at myself with the luck I have

Yeah it wasn?t a glitch I seriously didn't draw a d9 tag as my third choice couldn't believe it ! I haven't ever had a issue with getting a d9 tag must be more people hunting and applying. I couldn't help but laugh, oh well.

Now I will learn a new area I guess, so I got a d8 tag.... know anything about d8 ? Haha

RE: Draw

I finally drew a B tag with max points! Not looking for anyone's honey hole but I would appreciate any help. Thanks!.....just kidding. :D

What are you goofy rod you know people that are first alternates get tags ocasinaly, In the first place it's not a matter of turning the tag back in it's a matter of the person drawing not paying for the tag because they have about a month to decide if they want it or not!

I was the 1st alternate on a Klamath bull tag in 2013. I sent my paperwork in and never got a call but there were only seven tags or so.

Last year I drew a Marbles/Clipper sheep tag and then broke my ankle in November a month before the hunt. My surgeon told me I wouldn't be walking for 12 weeks. I had already bought the tag before my accident and seriously considered turning the tag back in. The day after my surgery I contacted CDFW to see what options I had. I was told I could turn the tag back in anytime before the hunt start date and get my points (max) back and gain another point as if I had not drawn but would have to eat the $408.50 tag fee. I figured I would never draw the tag again in my lifetime if I turned it back in as even with max points the odds of drawing are less than 1/2%. After discussing it with my outfitter, he told me he there were a few places not in the wilderness areas that generally held rams and thought he could get me on a legal ram even if I was on crutches so I kept the tag. So last year a sheep tag almost went to an alternate for medical reasons.

This year, I beat the 10% or so max point drawing odds and drew a Lassen 1st period antelope tag and hopefully won't have any reason whatsoever to turn it in!

RE: Draw

Horniac, thanks for the optimism, I would love to use my elk points, fingers crossed. Congrats on the Lassen tag, Thats the one I' trying to draw W/max points. Hope you find a smoker!

RE: Draw

What sucks is the waiting to see if someone dosent pay,the least they could do is let the department know they are not going to pay so they can contact you sooner.

RE: Draw

Years back I was a #1 alternate for a goat tag, sent in the paper work, never got the word. Two years ago, I was a number 7 alternate for Likely tables goat, didn't even bother to send in,.. then got a call from d.f.g,..and got a tag, so think positive.
