Hope for California

This is a fraud. Each region was carefully crafted to ensure a dem majority. Why is San Francisco not in the coastal region? To screw over the north. LA not in coastal either?

Everybody vote NO

Yup. Not my #1 idea. Although I would say getting away from LA would be better. Most people don't think there are any conservative, reasonable people in the Bay Area, but there are. They are just outnumbered 50 to 1.

I'm loving the looks of my southern cali....

It will never pass (I don't think) but it sends a message. The big population centers SF and LA won't want it so....they just want our water and a free playground.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-13-18 AT 07:41PM (MST)[p] I WILL BET THE FARM, IT WILL NEVER EVER HAPPEN. IT WILL BE DEFEATED AT EVERY LEVEL.(OUTSIDE OF NORCAL)...........YD.

Dems are all about it..... they keep the majority in each new state and gain 4 Senators in Washington DC. JB is right in that the new SoCal would probably be the most conservative leaning out of the 3......Smoke and mirrors.

Its another liberal scam. California or the majority of the coast would remain blue. They strategically placed both San Jose and San Francisco in Northern California so that it will be blue. The only state that would be red is Southern California. Move Santa Clara, San Mateo, SF and Marin counties to California and keep them out of N California.

Glad to see everyone else sees this for the Liberal scam that it is. This is NOT a way to divide parts of the state with similar interests and ideologies. It is a way for Dumbocrats to get more electoral votes, more senators and more congressmen in D.C.. Anybody with any sense should question why the lines were drawn as they were when it would have been simpler to divide the state in two above Sac as State of Jefferson has proposed. It is a carefully crafted way to hijack Washington. VOTE NO!!!!

Where do we vote to stop the water stealing from SoCal? I'll vote for whoever or whatever stops the water grab by SoCal agencies buying land in NorCal so they can divert water
Large Scale Desalination its time

We always lose in NorCal so what the hell

LAST EDITED ON Jun-14-18 AT 12:57PM (MST)[p]I think Hardway and MallardsOnly are right now that I think about it.

This was a move by the democrats to head off the state of Jefferson movement which would have split the north off the rest of Cali. The way the states are split up in the Dems plan there are liberal population bases attached to each of the rural portions of California. This will give the dems more representation in congress. The stuck San Francisco on everything in northern cali where the Jefferson movement started, a slap in the face to those who live in northern cali and desperately want nothing to do with the policies of San Francisco voters.

It's in court right now. The main thing is there aren't any rich donors throwing millions at it.

Why do you think this initiative is on the ballot??

Because of the Jefferson movement.

Conservatives need to take this plan, modify it, and resubmit it next election cycle.

Make it 5/6 states to pacify the Left, but so it is a wash nationally. Then we can live our lives without the Left telling us we can only consume 50 gallons of water daily, must not comply with ICE, etc.

No, it's not. It's on the ballot purely because liberals in CA think they can do whatever they want and want more power in Washington to make others do whatever they want. They want to shift the electoral college and representation even further so that there's more idiotic Dumbocrat representation. Why do you think they drew the lines where they did?? We don't need another 5-6 states in the union. We only need 1. Draw a line above Sacramento(or use Hwy 80 as the divider), call the north half No CA and lower half No Mexico(cuz that's what they want it to be). Then we'd just have to figure out how to build a new wall between the two.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-24-18 AT 07:10AM (MST)[p]Do you mean Interstate 80 instead of HWY 80? I like your idea. Vote no on the proposition!

To put this measure on the ballot and then see it die (as I believe it will) serves the primary purpose of killing the Jefferson movement. No one will pay it much attention once voters "turn it down" and the whole thing will slip from mind. Them pols are tricky bastards.

Just an attempt to get 4 more socialist senators to DC. Any Constitutionalist that buys into this plan thinking they are escaping the PRK does not see this for what it is. This isn't about the PRK it is about control of OUR country.
VOTE NO!
GET OUT AND VOTE!

Mallards,

It is a liberal Ponzi scheme.

But the Jefferson movement was, no doubt, a driving force behind it.

They are trying to get out in front of the Jefferson movement.

And the I 80 idea sucks. What about our kindred folks in the mountains south of I 80?

I've been living/working in the Touloumne/Calaveras area the last 15 months. They are every bit as conservative as you will find in this state.

My primary residence is in Lassen co. The #1 percentage for Trump county in the state, like 78%. These folks are just as conservative. You see more ?State of Jefferson ? banners here than any other part of the state.

I'm not denying that there are other conservatives in other parts of the state but you have to have a "reasonable" line. Otherwise, it ends up looking something like what Cal3 has proposed. While there, no doubt, would be conservatives caught below the I-80 line, it's the most logical divider for the state. Otherwise, it just ends up looking like a deer zone boundary.

Why would the LOOK of the boundary be of concern? There are lots of strange panhandles and lines for other states. I think boundaries should reflect with watersheds.

Maybe. But since the Hetch Hetchy reservoir is the primary water source for SF, I suspect that would be a stumbling block when trying to separate it from the Bay Area. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for getting as many conservatives in the "new" state as we could. I just think the challenges in making it come true becomes greater the more you cut the left off from their lifesources.

The water sources north of 80 that flow down to the Sacramento valley would be different?

The soj leaders say the water won't / can't change. The rights are established, same state or not.

Funny you mention hetchy. That's where I work.

Well, I'm not an expert in water law but I don't believe there are any major metro areas that are supplied with water from the Sac or Feather rivers. There are ag and other water rights that allow properties to pump from the river and supply farmlands via surface water. I doubt there are many below the I-80 cutoff though.

City of Sacramento gets its water from Sacramento River and American river. Plus I-80 runs right through sac and into the bay.

So why not go with the current proposed soj map?

It sure would make me feel much more Gooder if you guys keep us included?

You could run the line along I80 and then cut off along HWY 12 over to coast or something along those lines. What is the current SOJ map proposing?

I'm OK with that as well. But it seems to me like the SOJ proposal has been stalled out and not progressing. In contrast, the Cal3 initiative was able to get their proposal on the ballot this Nov but I have not heard much of anything about SOJ lately. My fear is that many will not understand the current ballot initiative like some on here and will vote for it thinking that somehow, it will benefit them like the SOJ is proposing when, on the contrary, it is actually WORSE for the conservatives in this country.

The SOJ and another group called citizens for fare representation combined together a lawsuit against the state. It's in court right now to try to get a 3 judge panel, the judge keeps delaying somehow.

The cal 3 got on so quickly because a billionaire with lots of friends got enough signatures.

There are other counties with working committies trying to throw in with soj as well.

The so-called "cal 3" would be more damaging to our country than the PRK is as it currently stands. This is nothing more than an attempt to stack the Senate with more socialists. Anyone that does not recognize this fact needs to take the blinders off. Unless one is in agreement with the socialists movement this plan should be beat down HARD! It is a huge coffin nail for our decocratic republic.
