Quick little Rant !

i'm a 61 year old fart who has hunted an area since the age of 12, an area which is an old remote subdivision consisting of 20 n 40 acre parcels my family has owned property in there since the late 60's, every summer we would work on the main road to make it passable during winter, so every year it was our go to spot to hunt deer, we all new each other and we all hunted on each others property without any problems never needed permission nothing.

it seems times have changed and so did the kind of people who own property back there, it started bout 12 years ago when meth cookers started cooking back there n buying up the property with their dirty money, it got dangerous real quick having tweekers pulling guns on you wondering who you were n if u had a right to be there that got old real quick, year after year having to defend yourself just to go hunt, this place was not just sentimental my family would put many years of old fashioned sweat n blood to keep that road rocked n drivable in the winter.

i use to love to take a few people back there once in a while to get their first buck ever and my grandson's first buck as well but now last 4 years its the pot growers buying up the property and putting gates on roads that have easements on em try explaining that to these kids, these gates are now keeping me n others who have hunted back there for eons out of the best buck country around, some of these guys went to school with my sons; so last night i get lectured by my kid bout driving through these peoples makeshift bullchit gates knowing full well my history there and expecting me to kiss their ass's, they should show me some respect, i tell you there is no respect these days for nothing or no one.

i guess it may be time to put a phuking gate on my families 40 acres ey...you think that'll get their attention, i hope someone can relate...nuf said.

Manny if they are growers turn them into the feds as many have received the 10 day notice this year and it seems to be getting their attention.

I hear the letter pretty much lays it out to them in no uncertain terms.
hope that helps

LAST EDITED ON Oct-01-18 AT 09:21AM (MST)[p]That sucks! I obviously don't know the complete dynamics, but don't get too bitter to where it's dangerous for your family to go out there.

1000 dollars a day fine in Nevada county if your not compliant to the 6 plant per property rule.

Now that weed is legal in CA I think everyone should grow their 6 plants even if you don't use it. Give it away like zucchini. Flood the State and take all the profit out of it. It's a weed, after all.

thats what happened here in oregon, when it first went legal property value went through the roof now there is too much on the street people loosing their land and its down to $300lb from $1500

i have no idea whats up with Cali laws i know they are making big money cause they are buying everything up over there...

my son went in there with his wife and one dummy cut him off and pulled a shotgun on him and was questioning him where our property was and asking if he had reason to be in there i told my son to call the sheriff but he said he is going back with a bunch of his buddies n taken care of it himself sooo i don't know, i'm just sick' lotsa memories back there i for sure don't wanna sell my 40....?

Tell the Sheriff about having a gun pulled on your son. He'll have to investigate. probably with a search warrant. Open up that can of worms.

That sucks Manny!

I think you've got some great advice, get the cops involved. It isn't worth the danger to your family, or yourself.

Then maybe get a lot of concrete and some heavy pipe and put in a big a** gate.

I have heard that a male plant growing nearby will pollenate the crop, resulting in more seeds and less product. Some growers appear OK with this as they use quality seed to grow their next crop.

Perhaps the solution to unwanted grows, then, is to grow a few male plants--of the crappiest industrial grade hemp available, thereby reducing the smoke value of any nearby plants and making their seed worthless.

Fight fire with fire.

I found a marijuana grow on Forest Service land a few years ago. On the drive out I flagged down a Forest Service truck and told him. He told me to avoid the area and drove off.

bullskin, yes one male plant can ruin an entire patch of bud.

Manny

there is one other way you can recruit MM members a lot of them to go in with you and outnumber them. Kinda takin back the streets so to speak.

Let's have one of those so called snipe hunts!!! Oh yeah and everyone plant male plants all over the place.

What do you think Eel are you up for a snipe hunt.

Find one cop that whats to deer hunt and have ride back in with ya, I bet if someone pulls a gun that cop will be taken someone to the pokey.

I know the area that your speaking of and yes all that is occurring there. The local sheriff doesn't really care either. However. There are a lot of us that cant hunt the areas that we did as a kid because the land has been sold or developed or land locked. That is just how things change. You can't stop it. I don't see how you feel entitled to that land just because you grew up hunting it? Why didn't you buy up the land and beat the pot heads to it?
Put the shoe on the other foot. Say you had saved up the money to buy that land and some old guy came driving through your property telling you that you had no right to keep him out because he has been hunting it for 40 years.

Believe me, I get both sides of this coin, I feel your pain from my own areas and i know it sucks. But times change, all we can do is adapt and overcome.
