I am still in shock. I'm so glad I'm a hunter. I'm more excited right now than I was as a kid on Christmas morning. I want to really make this hunt count and would love to hear from anyone that knows the unit or has recommendations/advice.
Best of luck to everyone this hunting season!!

Congrats on the tag! Unfortunately I haven't hunted in that unit so no info, hope someone can point you in the right direction!

a very good general tag and MANY "Big Bulls" are taken on these dates ... Bulls can be found in almost all of unit Do not discount looking too the East ... Good Luck ... Bruce & SilverGrand

LAST EDITED ON May-30-15 AT 10:50PM (MST)[p]I killed a 380 bull on the 111 late hunt. It was with a guide so I,m not sure it would be cool to say too much.
I will say that we didn't waste any time hunting on foot. We did all our hunting with big binos and spotting scopes. It took 10 days to find what I was looking for, then 2 more days to get him killed and off the mountain.
I too am in need of some help.241-245 deer.
Good luck to you.

Giant Bulls in that unit! If I had the money I would higher Trevor Marc's at bull ridge they kill giant Bulls EVERY YEAR up there. And what hunt do you have for 241-245 deer!? I spend a ton of time on those units might be able to help you out a little.

T45
It was Trevor that I hunted with. Thanks to his dad Chuck and The rest of the guys. It was a great Hunt.
This year I drew the 241-245 rifle deer. Any info is much needed and greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Buckhorn, where are you from and how much time and what dates do you plan on hunting it? 241 and 242 are the best units of the group, the others have VERY few deer in them. It all depends on when you plan on spending your time I believe it goes to Nov 1st this year? We like 242 later in the hunt when the deer start to move and rut. 241 is more of the desert and the bucks are very nocturnal in October and it is still hot in October. You need good glasses and to spend a lot of time behind them. Are you camping, hiring a guide, taking the hunt off?

Can't believe it's finally almost here. I'll be trying to find a giant bull to punch my tag on here in a couple weeks!!!

He's still there. I'm waiting for an update from him. I was there for the first 4 days of the season and we found some good bulls, but he is holding out for a great one!

Here are a few pics of my bull. It was an awesome hunt. My first time hunting Nevada and they have some quality hunting and animals I tell you. I easily saw over 100 different branched antler bulls over the 12 days I was there. I had 4 different guys drive out to help me at different times. (Shout out to Jason, TJ, Scott and Jack) I can't even say how cool that was to get to hunt with some of my buddies that are seriously awesome hunters that I learn a lot from as well as I had my mom there most of the time so we ate well :) and dad there the whole time which made it special for me too. Having Timberline set up the last 5 days was a great decision on my part. Those guys can glass up that pj country like i've never seen. It was awesome and I learned a ton watching them do their thing.
I got ALOT of great help from my fellow MMers out there too. Thanks guys, you know who you are!
I had chances at other great bulls along the way but things just never quite worked out for different reasons as hunting goes. Basically, we found this bull the night after passing a massive 350-355 type 5x6 that morning which made me doubt myself a little bit with just a few days to go in the hunt but once we found this bull, we made a fast stalk to get within shooting range. The shot was longer than I wanted (729) but I was prepared and equipped for long shots if needed and needless to say, it all worked out and I harvested this beautiful bull. It was cold, long, grueling and rewarding. Did I mention cold?? Thanks again for everyones help. This is a great forum and resource.

I finally sent him off to the taxi a couple months ago. I'll post pics once he's done. I'm hoping for a Nevada antelope tag this year. Nevada is an amazing, top quality state to hunt
