031 Deer

My wife drew this tag. I've chukar hunted it some so I know the road system and a few mountains, but no extensive knowledge by any stretch.

Her last week conflicts with my hunt. I'd prefer to hunt the last week of her season but mine is only 1 week and I beat the odds and drew one of the 2 hardest deer tags in Nevada to draw so I'm thinking we'll hunt the first week.

Any info would be appreciated.

Once the fire came through, its odd but most of the pronghorn went up high and the deer came down low to the alfalfa. I can PM you some spots where I've seen deer since I go up there every year. Let me get them together and I'll send them your way

Saw a pig scouting over Labor Day. Saw him again the day before the season.

Couldn't find him once the season started.

She took a decent 20", 4X4 on the fourth day. TOUGH! Lots of moon, and hot temps. BUT she did good and got it done when she finally decided to take a buck.

She passed on a couple of 3X4s that were bigger (and closer) but she wanted a true 4X4.

Way better than my first buck.
