Good afternoon I drew a table mountain wilderness rifle rut tag
..I've talked to biologists.. I was just looking for someone that has hunted the table before...and what they experienced on their hunt..any suggestions or stories would be appreciated. I have been on wildfires all spring and summer so scouting has been Google earth..local suggestions... And word of mouth...thank you.

About 5 years ago we hunted mosquito creek with early deer rifle tags. We saw a lot of bulls in some AMAZING country.

I have no idea if that's the best place for you to go or not. But I'd love to take that hike again with an early rifle bull tag in my pocket

Lots of pressure on the table. But there's also lots of game, that's why all the pressure is there. I've hunted cow elk and deer up Morgan Creek. Early season there's game on it. Once they get pressured they move to the back side. Pretty tough to get back there, but lots of game. I would head up Morgan creek, and camp mid mountain. Then hunt the back side. Pretty good game trails that take you above the tree line below the rim of the table. Lots of deer and elk move off the table when the pressure comes.

Just got back from an archery deer hunt in the area. We saw a whole herd of cows/calves (about 60 or so) up above the head of mosquito creek. I'll also PM you another spot that might be of interest.

Thanks for the Intel my plan was to get in the Morgan basin early on...and and concentrate on some of the nasty country on the east side if the pressure got too much. Thank you for your Intel...didyoh see some good bulls inyhaf country? ...thanks..jon
