unit 121 late archery deer

I have helped a lot of guys out on this forum with some different units and i was hoping someone could return the favor. I drew this tag this year and was trying to get some help. I have hunted a lot in NV and other states but have never set foot in this unit. Was hoping someone out there has been on this hunt and can shed some light on how it is and some good starting points. My season is from Nov 10th to the 30th. I'm just hoping to have a good time and and maybe get blessed with a good buck too. Thanks Aaron

Twenty years ago, I rifle hunted that unit two years in a row, but my hunts ended in late October. One of those years I hunted on the last weekend and caught the rut starting. I think my hunt ended November 4th, but we had a little snow on the ground were able to follow some rutting bucks. I ended up taking an average 4 point but I felt if I could have had another week, I would have turned up a big buck.
That late in my hunt, the bucks were in the lower J/P looking for does. I am guessing you will want to stay in the lower country where the does are and just watch for rutting bucks. It sounds like a great tag. Rut hunting is a blast. If you happen to get some snow I would try tracking.

I elk hunted the unit a few years back and a guy came out with a great typical buck, it scored north of 190.
Had it on top of his truck.
This young man worked for a local outfitter in the area.
I'll dig up my map and can put u in the area he killed it.
Between scouting and hunting I spent 18 days in the unit.
I never saw any BIG deer.
North end of the cherry cr. range.Is the general area.
