Dilemma

Not sure how to handle this great dilemma . My brother and I each drew Great goat ( antelope) tags this year as NR but in different units. We love hunting together and need to figure out how to best utilize our tags. Both are any weapon tags 8-22 / 9-7, he drew 035 and I drew 065. Question to my MM team in Nev is should we turn one of the tags back and focus just on one hunt or roll the dice trying to hunt both tags/units. If we were to turn back one of the 2 tags which should we hunt this year? Really need some advise ... Additionally we aren't young spring chickens anymore and who is to say how many more Great opportunities lay ahead in our future.Thx guys. Jim

How many bonus points do each of you have? It would depend on your points and odds of one of you drawing again next year and whether you want to spend another year coming to Nevada.

How much time do you have to hunt? You could spend 4 or 5 days together on each hunt if you have the time. Tags are getting harder and harder to come by. If you can swing it I'd keep both. Just my 2 cents.

Unit 065 is a very nice unit with a few 80+ antelope taken every year from it. If you decide to give one tag back I'd give the 035 tag back. But if you can swing both go for it. I'd Scout 065 before season and hunt it first.

How much time do you have available for the hunts? If you have most or all of the season I'd say hunt them both especially if one or both tags was drawn with low points. Good luck!

2 birds in hand is tough to beat. Most antelope hunts happen fast and even if you spent a week in 065, I bet there arent many tagholders left in the Jacksons by Labor Day weekend. Wake up - keep them both.

I vote to try to do both! I am also no longer a spring chicken, so I figure you never know what shape you may be in the following year, if you have the tag, try and make it work! It will make for some great memories, probably!!

Exactly what I expected from MM Team....great ,honest advise. I'm recently retired so time is Finally Easy ( I have the 065 tag) After your guys input I'm convinced we figure a way to hunt both. Really Appreciate the wisdom and encouragement . Drove up to Nevada a couple years ago visiting my buddy in Elko and spent some time looking at deer country in 065 and did stumble across several quality goats in the process. I'm Pumped. Have @ 20 strike outs in NM trying to get a goat tag at home.
