I don't know much about Nevada, and would love to see the country and hunt deer. I am looking for an area in East or northeast Nevada, I will be coming from Northern Utah. Im looking for an archery unit that I could draw with 1 or 2 points and hopefully have bucks that could get up to 170+, although I would probably shoot something around 150 opening day. Do any such areas exist? Thanks.

If you want an easy draw for an archery hunt look at area 101 102 103 etc.If you are willing to go up high you could find a 150 class buck. I don't think your will find anything bigger than a 170 buck unless you really get lucky. Check some of the other posts about area 10.

I was looking at the odds for 101-109E and it says 3 drew with 1 point and 23 were unsuccessful, yet 22 drew with 0 points? How is that so? I could be reading them wrong, first time looking at Nevada draw odds.

We have bonus points, not preference points.

The number of points you have is squared. You are then issued that many numbers between 1 and 99 million. The lowest number you get is your placement in the draw.

No guarantee that more points means you will draw. Also always a chance that you can draw.

Look through the bonus points. There are plenty of high demand units where people have high numbers of points and don't draw. But someone with few points draws.

You just have to apply and hope for the best.

Generally the lower demand units will show themselves in the points charts as they have fewer unsuccessful first choice applications. The higher demand hunts will have a higher number of unsuccessful first choice apps. Keep in mind unsuccessful is for first choice only, and successful is for anyone who drew. The true odds cannot be completely determined because of that, but the demand is obvious. Don't over think it.

what about 6 or 7? Not sure what the draw odds are right now but I have seen some toads on both units.
