151-156 Late

Hey all,

Drew this tag again. Had it as an early tag a few years ago and guess I got fairly lucky to pull it again- especially the late tag. Just wondering what you guys have experienced on this hunt over the last couple years.
I noticed tags had been cut way back and only a handful of guys hunt it now. Still good bucks to be seen?
Would be happy to share info on NM, WY and UT deer.

It was really on an up swing in the early part of the 2000-2008. Randy ulmer drew the tag in 08 I believe and a bunch of guides followed him in to the area. They put up trail cams all over the unit, water is pretty sparse in this area. It wasn't hard to pattern nice buck within a couple years seems the mature deer are few and far between. I'm not blaming Randy ulmer just stating the vultures that follow behind him. Every youth tag I drew was in this unit and we'd see lots of 4 points. Don't let me disparage hunt hard and high.

Yes Randy Ulmer drew a tag in area 15, but he did not harvest a deer that year. The Nevada buck he got that year was in area 22 a landowner tag

Ya he killed a stud of a buck that year thought it was a 13 tag but you probably know better. Moral of my story is that trailcams have decimated the unit. This last year we actually saw real nice bucks on some pivots on the way up to our spot hunting antelopes.

You may want to go talk to the ranch manager at the 3 bars ranch. Very helpful and loves to see people succeed on hunting trip.

On a quick note don't hunt behind the ranch house not in your unit, think I explained it to him 20 times that I have to stay in my unit. Also go look in Ravenwood on the edge of the unit next to unit 18 some dandy's up there a couple years ago.
