Looking to hit up some coyotes this weekend or next. Was curious if its better to try and hold low near water or get deeper where theres more cover? never hunted western yotes, any tips or areas that may offer a decent opportunity are appreciated.
 
Coyotes get a lot of their water from their diet. You are better off getting away from any roads,at least a mile preferably. They like to travel low areas, such as draws and drainages, creek bottoms, etc. This time of year they will only be active at night until around 8-9am. Fawn distress calls work well along with the stand by rabbit. Pup calls can work well if you are fairly close to a den. Good luck!
 
I have to disagree with getting away from roads. Being to 2 seminars put on by 3 time world champion roads are irrelevant it's all based on the wind. Play the wind, kill coyotes
